Real People. Real Results.

What the work actually looks like. Anonymised where needed. Specifics where useful.

How to read this page

Three things matter in any case study:

  • Where the person started
  • What we did about it
  • Where they ended up

You'll get all three. No vague "my pain feels better" lines. Real specifics.

CASE 01 · Chronic back pain
Sarah, 42
Sheffield · Chronic lower back pain for 6 years

Where she started

Couldn't sit for more than 20 minutes. Stopped running entirely. Had seen three physios. None had explained what was actually happening. A scan showed "mild degeneration" which she'd been told meant she had to live with it.

What we did

Phase 1: hands-on to settle the angry tissue. Phase 2: gradual loading of the back, hips, glutes. Phase 3: progressive return to running, walk-run intervals.

Where she ended

Six sessions over three months. Back to running 5K. Sitting through a workday without pain. Still does the strength work twice a week to stay ahead of it.

"I'd been told for years that my back was just like that. Nobody actually looked at the strength side. Six sessions in I'm running again."
CASE 02 · Achilles tendinopathy
James, 35
Sheffield runner · 8 months of Achilles pain

Where he started

Had stopped running entirely. Tried rest. Tried stretching. Tried foam rolling. Nothing was changing.

What we did

Tendon-specific loading. Heavy slow resistance, three times a week, programmed properly. Hands-on work to settle local sensitivity. Walk-run progression once symptoms allowed.

Where he ended

Twelve weeks in, back to running pain-free. Ran his target marathon four months later.

"Honestly the loading felt counterintuitive. Pushing the thing that hurts. But it worked when nothing else had."
CASE 03 · Recurring sciatica
Mark, 51
Desk worker · Recurring sciatica for 4 years

Where he started

Sciatica down the right leg. Flared most winters. Had had a steroid injection, which helped briefly, then it came back.

What we did

Hands-on to settle the irritated nerve. Specific neurodynamic work. Strength programme for back, glutes, hips. Education on why it had been recurring (capacity loss, not damage).

Where he ended

Eight sessions. No flare in 18 months. Maintains a 30-minute strength session twice a week.

"I'd accepted it was just my life. Turns out I just needed to actually build the strength I'd been missing."

More case studies coming as the clinic builds them. Real names anonymised on request.
